Aaron Holliman
For our 5th Bowler Spotlight I picked perhaps the most laid back, yet consistently dominating lefty in Memphis….Aaron Holliman. No Holliman needs introduction, just Holliman. I’ve known Aaron’s father for 30 years, but have only known Aaron for roughly 17ish. My respect for Aaron reaches far beyond the lanes and starts with him as a father, husband and provider. He is truly 1 of the nicest, most straight forward no bs people in a bowling center. For the 2 people that bowl in Memphis (or the Mid-south for that matter) that don’t know Aaron, just look at the leader board of your tournament. The chances that he is 1 of the top 3 spots is about 100%
| Name: Aaron Holliman Age: 40 Years Bowling: 37 300s: 33 800s: 21 EB: What’s your 1st bowling memory? Aaron: When I was 8 years old I moved up in the junior leagues at Imperial (God rest that places soul) and did not have a team. I joined a team with 2 girls and we called ourselves, “2 girls and a Cutie”……we won the league EB: Who is responsible for your love of the game? Aaron: My entire family. We were always in a bowling alley from my Uncle Steve, my Pepaw Joro, to my dad Jeff. Everybody had a part. EB: What is the most exciting/thrilling experience in bowling? Aaron: I have 2. My personal exciting experience is in high school beating Bolton High School to go to the state finals and it helped me with Mr. Tennessee Bowling. My 2nd is, as a coach, watching my son shoot his first 300 in the state high school bowling finals. EB: What is your most embarrassing/worst experience in bowling? Aaron: Bowling at Cotton Bowl in league. We were bowling for the quarter on 19-20 and I threw back to back 5-7-10’s on Lane 19! EB: Who is your bowling idol? Aaron: Parker Bohn III. I’ve always wanted to roll the ball as smooth as him. EB: What bowling plans do you have in the near future? Aaron: I would love to get a ball sponsor from someone. Since my back surgery, I can bowl more tournaments and get my name out there. EB: What bowling plans do you have long term? Aaron: Would love to have a bowling team with my family. I have a family of 5 and I think that would be awesome. EB: Favorite bowling ball of all time? Aaron: The Hammer Scandal. I had that ball for 3 years before it cracked. I had over 20 honor scores with it. (EB: Thank God for the rest of us it did crack) EB: What is something you enjoy doing that doesn’t involve bowling? Aaron: I like to play golf. I’ve recently got both my sons into golf. A nice day is the 3 of us heading over to the course and playing a round. That is perfect to me. To be honest, anything I can do with any of my family is a great day (EB: And that last sentence is why I say my respect for him reaches far beyond the lanes) |
