For our 2nd Bowler Spotlight I decided to pick Mike Williams (the 1 on the right side of the pic). I have only known Mike for around 13 years, but much like his son Carl, you just sorta have to like the guy. He is always going to be one of the finest people you come across in a bowling center. I always enjoy seeing him bowl, even if I am typically losing to him (which is usually the case).

Mike Williams: Stationed in Germany and never having bowled league before. I grabbed a house ball and shoes, entered a no tap tournament and shot 300. (EB: Is anyone really shocked here) EB: Who is responsible for your love of the game? Mike Williams: My late brother Joey Williams EB: What is the most exciting/thrilling experience in bowling? Mike Williams: When Mykel Holliman and myself bowled against AJ Rice and Tony Churchey. Going into the 10th frame we were up by 1 pin. I matched Tony Churchey strike for strike and we won by 1 pin. (EB: Again, is anyone surprised. Start calling him Clutch Williams) EB: What is your most embarrassing/worst experience in bowling? Mike Williams: Finished last in an ASBT Senior event in Rogers Arkansas. Came back and won the next day. (EB: Again, Again, no one is really shocked here.) EB: Who is your bowling idol? Mike Williams: Walter Ray Williams Jr. (he jokes, his cousin, hahaha) EB: What bowling plans do you have in the near future? Mike Williams: Enjoy myself, bowling with family & friends in leagues and tournaments EB: What bowling plans do you have long term? Mike Williams: To be the best Super Senior in the Mid-South (EB: I could be wrong, but I think he is already there) EB: Favorite bowling ball of all time? Mike Williams: Jigsaw Corner EB: What is something you enjoy doing that does not involve bowling? Mike Williams: Playing a round of golf with family & friends. Having everyone over to the house- BBQ, pool & cornhole. |
